APARTMENTS PLANNED FOR HEART OF UPTOWN

Your dream of living in the heart of Uptown is about to come true.

New apartments are set to rise at 3009 Holmes Avenue S, a site currently home to two houses and part of a commercial building. In your back yard would be The North Face, Urban Outfitters, and Colombia Sportswear along with numerous other retailers... literally.

The developers behind the neighboring Solhem project, a residential building that was constructed in the early 2000's, are also behind this project that at the moment is being called the Holmes Avenue Apartments.

The company is responsible for a number of residential projects in Minneapolis and this would be their third project in the Uptown area. Another residential project of theirs is expected to be under construction soon in Uptown just down the road on the Midtown Greenway at 2905 Harriett Avenue S.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Standing 7 stories in height, the building would include 71 apartment units with 39 vehicle parking spots and space for 90 bikes.

The ground floor of the building would include 4 walk up residential units along with the building's management office, lobby, and lounge. On a half level above there would be space for 14 parking spots along with the mezzanines for the four ground floor units, two additional residential units and an exercise facility for the building. The rest of the project would include 13 units per floor. The basement level of the project would include 25 additional parking spaces along with the bike storage area.

Developers are also planning a large rooftop patio facing the Minneapolis skyline.

Exterior finishes for the project include the use of stucco and brick along with CMU. A light brick will cover most of the lower level facade while grey and white stucco will clad the upper levels. A glass cornice, really the railing for the rooftop patio, will frame the building's top.

Construction on the Holmes Avenue Apartments project is expected to begin in this April with an anticipated completion in Summer 2018.

This project isn't the only residential project planned for the heart of Uptown. Just down the block a new 6 story residential building with condominium units is being developed at 3041 Holmes Avenue. The building is expected to open to residents this Summer.
